First hydro grow drip timing?

I'm kicking off my first hydro grow and I've got a seedling sitting in a peat plug nestled in clay pebbles. Should I turn on the drip system right away, or should I hold off for a day or two? Also, when's the right time to begin the light cycle?

I did my first hydro grow last spring with the same setup, using a peat plug in clay pebbles. I turned on the drip right away but kept it slow so the seedling didn't get too much water. I started the lights as soon as the seedling came up, and it grew well from the beginning.

Start with 15–30 mins drip, 2–3 times a day in lights-on, then adjust based on how fast the medium dries. ✅

Yes, start your drip system now at a low rate. Seedlings need consistent moisture. Run your lights 18/6 right away for healthy growth.
