I'm considering a DTW drip setup and I'm thinking if the SOG method is the best way to maximize my yearly harvest. If anyone here has tried this, I'm really keen to hear about your experience and advice! I also need recommendations for number and size of pots and grow media.

Haven't really tried this but i heard that for pot size and number, smaller pots like around 3 gallons max packed close together are common in SOG to encourage vertical growth. you can check out some online grow journals for DTW SOG setups too. you'll find tons of specific advice and pot/plant number examples!

Use small pots, about 1 - 3 gallons and aim for about one plant per square foot. Coco coir or a coco/perlite mix works well as the grow medium, just make sure your feeding is steady and check runoff to avoid salt buildup. Good luck

That's solid advice, a mix of coco and perlite works really well together. Do you prefer hand feeding, or do you have a drip system for yours?

To get the most out of SOG with the Drain to Waste method, think small pots. We're talking 1 to 3 gallons. Pack those plants in tight to really crank up the yield. Coco is a great choice. It drains nicely, but keep a close look on those nutrients
