High PH levels

I'm trying out something with Rockwool cubes and I did all the prework needed to get the lime off, but my PH levels are still high, barely below 7. Anyone have an idea why?

Rockwool naturally starts with a high pH, around 7 to 8. So even after soaking, it can take a while to stabilize. Try soaking longer in a pH 5.5–6.0 solution and test again after a few hours

The water at our place (from a well) comes out around PH 8ish, so that's my baseline PH. I bought a pair of PH Up and PH Down liquids but have never needed the 'Up' one.

From what I read I should be aiming at around 6 or so for what I'm growing (pak choi, salads, some herbs, green leafy stuff in general) so it's a constant process to keep the PH down to somewhere near that.

When this happened to me, it took me a while to figure out my tap water was the culprit. Maybe before anything too costly, you can first check your source water. You might not really need to adjust anything else.

Rockwool cubes can have high pH because of leftover lime or just how they're made. To fix this, flush them with water that has the right pH balance and keep an eye on the pH levels.
