How and when to mix first nutrient feed right

Started out with a new run last week and I think I need to check on the timing for the very first feed. Up until now I've just been using plain water, but I know there's a particular time frame for when to introduce nutrients so the plants don't get stressed or burned right out of the gate, so I dont know if I should go super light at first (like a quarter strength of what the chart suggests), or just jump right into a half dose if the seedlings look strong. I want to start mild and then build up, but I'd love to hear how you all approach it.

At what point do you usually give that first feeding, and how do you mix things to make sure the ratios are balanced without overdoing it?

yes! you need to go super light. I'll do a quarter dose for the first week of feeding, then maybe half for the next two weeks, and slowly build up. The most common mistake new growers make is overfeeding

I usually wait until the first true leaves show and roots are active before starting nutrients, then go with a quarter strength for the first feed. If they respond well after a few days, I bump it to half. Are you running coco, soil, or hydro for this setup? That can change how early you feed.
