Root rot questions

I recently started on DWC and I noticed a bit of discoloration on the roots yesterday, temps hit around 24°C briefly but feel cool now but I have no root protectants now. How do you deal with this? any tips?

Yeah, root discoloration can creep in quick with higher temps, you cn try keeping water under 20°C, add an air stone for oxygen, and grab some hydroguard or beneficial microbes ASAP

I agree with @Aqua, the best immediate step is to make sure you water is highly oxygenated!!
Check your air stone and pump to make sure they're performing optimally.
If the discoloration is minimal and it looks more like a light staining than rot, you can also try a very gentle rinse of the roots with plain, pH-balanced water.
Long-term, keeping reservoir temps consistently below 20°C is key.
I read others would also swear by beneficial bacteria products to outcompete any bad stuff, even without a specific protectant but I don't really have any experience with that.

24°C is a bit on the warm side for DWC roots, can cause discoloration and stress, if you don't got root protectants, try to keep temps below 22°C by chilling the reservoir or using insulation, also if you can, get some beneficial bacteria or enzymes to keep roots healthy once you have the chance
